One major problem with online learning is the assumption that the current issues with it are technological in nature. The learning environment created by teachers, aides, and students is largely being ignored, especially in elementary, middle and partly high school education. College level courses can to a degree be taught online, but for younger students there are a host of benefits gained from being in a classroom. Additionally classroom management is no where near possible when trying to keep a class of kindergarten students engaged. Learning is more than just memorization, and the US has been plagued for years as a result of not coming to this realization.
